Hawaiian Pools is a premier inground pool builder in Northwest Ohio. We are pleased to offer you, our client, spas and hot tubs as add-ons to your outdoor pool.

With a hot tub or spa, there are a few precautions that we believe you should know and understand. We want you to enjoy your experience, and your safety is our concern.

  • If you experience any nausea, dizziness or fainting, get out of the spa or hot tub immediately. These are all signs of hyperthermia which can be fatal. The best way to cool your body down is with a cool shower, or cold towels. If your symptoms persist, call a doctor or 9-1-1.
  • The combination of alcohol and/or drugs and hot water can cause dizziness, heart attack, falling, or you could become unconscious. NEVER use a spa or hot tub if you’ve been drinking. spa hottub
  • With a spa system, never alter the electrical cord or plug.
  • A spa system must always operate from a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) protected circuit or outlet. Never use an extension cord to connect your spa system to an existing electrical outlet. If you are in doubt, consult with a licensed electrician.
  • The water temperature of your spa should always be below 104 degrees F, or 40 degrees C. Some age or health conditions, such as pregnancy, may require a lower water temperature. It’s always wise to consult with your physician.
  • Your hot tub and spa must have dual suction outlets. All tub suction fittings should be certified to meet the current ASME/ANSI Standards that apply.
  • Infants and toddlers should not be permitted in a hot tub at all as babies' thin skin makes them more susceptible to overheating.
  • Make sure you have a hand rail installed. While you may not think it’s necessary, if you or a guest becomes dizzy when getting out, the hand rail offers immediate assistance.
  • Before and after use you should check the disinfectant level and add chlorine or other disinfectant if it is low.
